Focus Group

Our group organized a focus group which included 5 girls and 5 boys (ages 16-21). We did this so that we would get a reliable response and get an understanding on what our target audience like/dislike.

Our video was most popular with females in the 13-17 and the 18-24 year old group, but on the other hand it was most popular with males ages 45-54.
We asked our focus group a few questions about what they felt about the music video and if they felt there could be any improvements.

We asked our focus group several questions including:

Q: Did you understand the music video?
A: A few people didn’t understand the narrative but the majority understood it.
Q: Would you watch the video again?
A: Everyone said that they would watch the video again because they found it interesting.
Q: Does the video make you want to buy the song?
A: All members of the focus group said that they would buy the song and many of them commented on how good the song was. This was obviously a very positive thing to hear since that was the aim of our video, to advertise the song.

POSTER

Oats CD Cover and Inside

For my CD cover I chose images that would relate to the music video. The pictures are of the band in the woods, which I took whilst we were filming them. I chose to use an out of focus image for the front cover because I like the effect of it and it related to their more arty, individual style. I kept the writing simple because I wanted the pictures to be the main focus. I asked the band if I could use their official logo, and they asked me to contact their friend who created it. He allowed me to use it and I felt that this was appropriate so that if people saw this logo on the CD cover, they might recognise it from other websites like youtube, myspace or facebook.

For the inside of the cover I chose to have a one picture which would spread across both pages. I wanted the lyrics to be included for the bands main single, the song we made out music video for Train Track Tracey. I kept the information on the bottom right about this CD; "Includes their brand new single Train Track Tracey."

Music Video

This is our final version of our Music Video. The music video became more pixelated on youtube and the highest quality you can watch it in is 480p, this is because the music video was not shot in HD.

Album cover Progress

I have printscreened pictures of the production of my album cover to show the progress and the alterations I have made. I have dited the typeface so that I can decided which one looks best with the overall product.

Storyboards

We created a storyboard to help us prepare visually for what we want to accomplish with the music video.  This will benefit our group by helping us stay on target and on time. Also it will help us to be prepared when it comes to filming and will make the flow of the video much smoother. TTT-Train Track Tracie.
